The youngest daughter of Ōzhdinem, the second Grand Princess of Ǣdyihòzh.

Amiable and empathetic, she was seen as a more desirable heir by the commercial class at large over her next-oldest sister Toshlik, who largely supported the interests of the wealthiest magnates. When, due to the timing of Ōzhdinem's death, Toshlik only narrowly became Grand Princess, there was brief instability due to the dissatisfaction and suspicion of Ayhyam's supporters, but this was largely defused by Ayhyam's own public support of her sister's succession.

Despite this, Toshlik remained suspicious of Ayhyam, and they rarely spoke from that time onward. Though Ayhyam could have retained her suite Principal Palace, under the tense circumstances she felt she should maintain her own establishment, and Toshlik was only too pleased that she did so. Ayhyam further irritated her sister when Toshlik's middle daughter, Èdnam, who did not get along with her mother, began looking to her as a role model.

When Toshlik's death left Èdnam as Grand Princess, she made a point of formally inviting Ayhyam and her husbands back into the Palace, which was graciously accepted. It is thought that Èdnam values her aunt's opinions highly and regularly seeks her advice on matters of state.
