To'an
To'an the Father is a member of the Eminent Court, and therefore one of the divine husbands of the Most Eminent in the imperial_religion. He is considered the counterpart of his wife's aspect of the Great Mother.
To'an, much like His counterpart, is a kind and loving god, but a more cheerful, permissive, and nurturing one. He is invoked for the protection and health of children, and in lean times, He is called upon for food and shelter; it is also His sympathy and loving embrace that is sought when one is having difficult times, and from Him that forgiveness is sought when one is ashamed - though if one has broken the law, His forgiveness means only so much when the Great Matriarch is the judge.
The temples of To'an are popular and often well-funded by the elite. This is not merely because of To'an's important example in maintaining social stability, but because of their reputation for charity. Many of the temples house orphanages, hospitals, or lodgings for travelers or the poor, and the priests of To'an often venture forth to aid those in need; donating to them, therefore, is a simple method for gaining social credit and maintaining a reputation for generosity.
To'an is represented as a purple takma wearing the antenna-rings of a married male, frequently with an egg or infant cradled in His forelegs. His totem is the dish or bowl.
