Khezri

Khezri is a Lamna and one of the twin creator deities of the imperial_religion, alongside her sister seluurin. She is the Spirit of Chaos, the deity of surprise, randomness, freedom, and asymmetry.

She is very likely the mythological conception of the Extrinsic known as Chaos.

Names and epithets

Khezri is her name in the heartlands, though she is known by others in various languages.

Among the epithets ascribed to her are the Trickster, the Liberator, and the Mother of Wonders.

Realm

According to legend, Khezri's home lies in the Mists of Khezri, a mass of clouds in dark tendrils emanating from, and concealing, an orange glow that is though to be the heart of Khezri herself. Within, she dances endlessly along ever-shifting paths, surrounding herself with illusions and mischievous spirits whose forms and natures change from moment to moment.

Worship

While the worship of the Lamnar is rarely organized or regular, that of the Diarchs is nearly nonexistent. Neither Seluurin or Khezri is close enough to daily life to provide aid; and in any case, it is said that they accept no sacrifices or offerings except oneself: they wish those seeking Their favor to act and behave in particular ways in their daily life.

Mythological role

To Khezri, the search for meaning is pointless; existence is defined by experiences. Variety and newness are what allow growth and change, and they should not be held back by plans or ordered progression. There is no such thing as a bad experience - helpful or harmful, it is an experience and a change, to be appreciated for its own sake.

Khezri, above all things, seeks experiences, intensity, variety, and surprises. She is not exactly opposed to the humdrum and everyday, but will only tolerate it for so long before seeking to introduce something else; She wants life to be exciting, for herself and for everyone else.

In all this, she is most consistently opposed by her twin sister, Seluurin, with whom she vies eternally for influence in an endless game.

Mythological history

Both Diarchs play a prominent role in the Imperial creation myth, having first created the other Lamnar, then the Most Eminent, and finally, as a home for the creations of the latter, the world of Avishraa. It is generally held that they have not played an active role since then, nor do they need to; their influence is already everywhere, and will be until the end of all things.
