Vigil Era

The Vigil Era is used by historiographers of the Imperial tradition to represent the period in which the Empire declined from the cycles of the Steel Era and eventually ended. It is followed by what is conventionally called the Cloud Era.

The walls come crumbling down

Sholeth, governor of a frontier province, strikes a deal with the barbarians she is supposed to defend the Empire against, and breaks away to form her own queendom.

27 Vigil

End of an empire

After her betrayal by the empress Ilvrith, the general Uvereth of Inaar marches her troops on the Imperial capital Kar Iitan. Sacking the city and slaying the empress, she refuses to take the throne for herself, and shatters the Foundation Stone, putting a symbolic end to the Empire.
