====== Mists of Khezri ======
The **Mists of Khezri** is the name given by many [[takma:]] civilizations on [[universe:mikurmiya:avishraa]] to a celestial object in their world's sky.

The Mists are a dwarf [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenticular_galaxy|lenticular galaxy]], whose shape suffered some distortion and took on some [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irregular_galaxy|irregularity]] after two collisions with the neighboring galaxy, [[universe:seluurins_palace|Seluurin's Palace]], ninety-three million [[concept:timekeeping#cycle|cycles]] ago and again fifteen million cycles ago.

From Avishraa, the Mists resemble a roughly oval and somewhat reddish cloud of light, obscured by dark bands of dust. As the name implies, the [[mythology:imperial_religion:]] traditionally considers it to be the home of the [[mythology:imperial_religion:lamnar:|Lamna]] [[mythology:imperial_religion:lamnar:khezri]], goddess of Chaos and one half of the primal Diarchs. The light shining from behind the clouds is thought to be that of Khezri Herself, and the dark bands to be representative of Her unseen influence on the world.

Avishraa's other neighboring galaxy, [[universe:seluurins_palace|Seluurin's Palace]], is largely on the opposite side of the sky from the Mists of Khezri, but portions of the two appear to extend toward each other, and there are times when these are in the sky simultaneously. Adherents of the Imperial religion traditionally consider such times to be especially prone to conflict or major societal upheaval.
