 +**Seluurin** is a [[mythology:imperial_religion:lamnar:|Lamna]] and one of the twin creator deities of the [[mythology:imperial_religion:]], alongside her sister [[mythology:imperial_religion:lamnar:khezri]]. She is the Spirit of Order, the deity of fate, structure, organization, authority, plans, and symmetry.

 +She is very likely the mythological conception of the [[Extrinsic:]] known as [[extrinsic:Order]].
 +
 +===== Names and epithets =====
 +Seluurin is her name in the [[geography:sekhaa:region:heartlands]], though she is known by others in various languages.
 +
 +Among the epithets ascribed to her are the Fateweaver, the Builder, and the Mother of Schemes.
 +
 +===== Realm =====
 +According to legend, Seluurin's home is [[universe:seluurins_palace|Seluurin's Palace]], a vast whirlpool of light often seen in Avishraa's sky. In the center of it, Seluurin herself reclines upon a diamond throne, surrounded by her glittering servants in a hall floored by crystal and lit by the innumerable stars.
 +
 +===== Worship =====
 +While the worship of the Lamnar is rarely organized or regular, that of the Diarchs is nearly nonexistent. Neither Seluurin or Khezri is close enough to daily life to provide aid; and in any case, it is said that they accept no sacrifices or offerings except oneself: they wish those seeking Their favor to act and behave in particular ways in their daily life.
 +
 +===== Mythological role =====
 +For Seluurin, the world is a framework of purpose, meaning, and context. For things to work, to get done, to progress, requires that its components have to perform certain tasks and bear certain relationships with other components, in a grand structure that encompasses everything from the tiniest of particles to whole clusters of galaxies.
 +
 +To finish the puzzle, each piece must fit into those around it. To run the machine, each gear must mesh and spin with other gears. To make a civilization, each person must know their jobs and do them.
 +
 +Seluurin, above all things, sees to it that the world is stable, predictable, and organized. She wants to know how and why everything works, and to know that it will continue to work that way; if change is to come, she wishes it to be a //managed// change, part of the plan itself. She is viscerally unsettled by surprises and deviations from the way things are supposed to be; things are at their best when controlled.
 +
 +In all this, she is most consistently opposed by her twin sister, Khezri, with whom she vies eternally for influence in an endless game.
 +
 +===== Mythological history =====
 +Both Diarchs play a prominent role in the [[item:text:Imperial creation myth]], having first created the other Lamnar, then the Most Eminent, and finally, as a home for the creations of the latter, the world of Avishraa. It is generally held that they have not played an active role since then, nor do they need to; their influence is already everywhere, and will be until the end of all things.
