This tag, the more generalized successor of the original code's Draconity Index, is used to describe the level of separation between one's online identity and one's meatspace identity, and the strength of feeling about it; or, put another way, how strongly one feels that the online identity is the real one.

As implied under the Fruitiness tag, a large percentage of the AFD community, dating from its early days, consisted of therianthropes, otherkin, and similarly inclined - essentially, those for whom there is a major non-human component to their identity, to one extent or another. For those who would doubt the sanity of someone who believes (for instance) that they're a dragon stuck in a human body, I feel obliged to point out that you could very reasonably argue that some of the major religions preach things that are more ridiculous, and often much nastier, on a daily basis and hardly anyone who isn't the target bats an eye… just in case you were wondering where I stand on the subject.

(I'm probably a R+, possibly a R++, depending on which specific incarnation of my online identity we're talking about - certainly, in the privacy of my own head, I call myself Shyriath rather than my birth name.)

Although for most of AFD's history tolerance and understanding were the expected behavior, and those who considered themselves human in real life got along fairly well with those who didn't, it remained prudent for there to be a way of making one's feelings on the subject known to avoid misunderstandings - or, given the heated arguments that could come about when one person or another felt very strongly on the subject, to avoid getting into a flame war.

I AM as I describe myself, and no-one is going to persuade me otherwise. What you see is what your mind wants you to see!

I AM as I describe myself on-line. The human body is either an unfortunate mismatch, an illusion, or just my messenger.

I tend to answer to my on-line name quicker than my given one. I strongly identify with this form. It would explain a lot if I wasn't really human, but I'm hedging my bets.

It's a role, but it's a role that's part of my self-image, without which I would feel like something was missing.

I haven't given much thought to whether I am more “real” in human form or in my on-line identity. I'm just me.

It would be nice to be as I say I am on-line, but I've got some real doubts about whether such a thing is possible.

This is a hobby for me. My character is just a product of my imagination, nothing more.

I consider all of this imaginary. You R+++ people scare me. Don't you think you're taking things a bit too seriously?
