====== Vigil Era ======
The **Vigil Era** is used by historiographers of the [[geopolitical:empire:|Imperial]] tradition to represent the period in which the Empire declined from the cycles of the [[history:Steel Era:]] and eventually ended. It is followed by what is conventionally called the [[history:Cloud Era:]].

After her betrayal by the [[geopolitical:empire:empress]] [[person:Ilvrith]], the general [[person:Uvereth]] of [[geopolitical:Inaar]] marches her troops on the Imperial capital [[geopolitical:Kar Iitan]]. Sacking the city and slaying the empress, she refuses to take the throne for herself, and shatters the [[item:Foundation Stone]], putting a symbolic end to the Empire.
