====== Pearls of Nyèlik ======
The Pearls of Nyèlik are an archipelago extending from the northern coasts of [[geography:sekhaa:region:Karrod]] further northward into the northwestern reaches of the [[geography:ocean:Dawn Sea]]. They are named for [[mythology:imperial_religion:siathar:Nyèlik]] the Mariner, an [[ethnicity:Abethine]] goddess believed to be one of the [[mythology:imperial_religion:siathar:list_of_children|Children]] of the [[mythology:imperial_religion:siathar:siath|Most Eminent]].

The islands are not, in the strict sense, part of the [[geography:sekhaa:region:Abethine Coast]], but over time have become culturally associated with it, and most of them are either ruled by or allied with the city-states of that region. As a result, though most of the native languages are [[language:family:Jirtsiengic]], the ones that have not been replaced by [[language:family:Abethine]] transplants have been heavily influenced by them; this is especially acute in the major seaports, where Abethine influence is strongest.
